Welcome to 'Gravehearts', A slice of death, slow burn, cosy game with the hint of the macabre.
Follow the story of the new groundskeeper of Overlook Cemetery in the small town of Blackwood. You wanted to start a new life, but could not escape the ghosts of your past, and now you can't seem to escape the ghosts of the past. Strange things are going on in this town, and it seems like only you can help; you are the connection between the living and the dead.
Gravehearts is a visual novel that will be updated as individual chapters. There will be no additional charges for each chapter, and there will be no in-game purchases. We are just here to hang out and enjoy our time with the spirits, no ouija board needed.

✞ The characters ✞
Graveheart's story is a heavily character-driven story where you will get to know our characters deeply and possibly even intimately.
Wyatt: A cowboy from the USA, brought to the Scottish Highlands by a 100-year-old vendetta.
Ledger: A 2000-year-old spirit, who keeps the records of all buried in the graveyard.
Agnes: Her family now moved on, but she stayed behind, hoping that in death she could live.
Andy: Our living soul and our co-worker, he doesn't really believe in ghosts, but he is mildly afraid of them, especially Cecil. Cecil is weird
Cecil: A poltergeist that possesses a small cat doll, a spirit with extreme power but mainly just here for the teehee and the haha's..
Antony: A Modern spirit, gone too soon, he waits for his loved one to join him.
You can help your spirit friends as well as the other wayward spirits in the town, but not all spirits are happy; some can be liars, some can be tricksters, and some can be violent
✞ Features✞
- You can customise your character's names and pronouns with the option of He/ She or They.
- The character you play has a backstory and problems of their own to solve; it's not only ghosts that are haunting you.
- Befriend the ghosts; depending on your choices made in the game, you can become close with the spirits, you can become close friends, you can fall in love with them, or they can hate your guts. Depending on the choices you make, it can affect your route in the story.
- Though the story has romantic elements with the characters, it is not the main focus of the game; we will be following an overarching plot with sides of romance.
- Character romances will not be locked behind gender, and you will have the option to have ace relationships.

Gravehearts is designed to be a phone game, so the screen aspect ratio will be 9:16. We recommend playing on your Android phone if you have one, and we are currently working on making the game for iPhones.
We are planning to make the story at least 10-15 chapters long, and as mentioned above, all updates will be free!
The game features some beautiful music created by Scott Buckley, Kevin Macleod and Jahzzar.
✞ Content Warning✞
Gravehearts is a game intended for more mature audiences (16+). Being a game about ghosts, it will have some horror elements, and the game will explore more difficult topics around subjects such as death, injury, sickness and mental health struggles. Due to this, some scenes may be more graphic and distressing than others. However, on approach to these kinds of scenes, the player will be warned and will be given the option to censor the scene. This game will contain no jumpscares.
The game will also contain alcohol use, cigarette use, violence, threat, swearing and religious themes.

The demo of Gravehearts will always be available to play for people who are interested in the game but aren't sure if they want to buy it yet. The Demo is the first half of chapter one and free to play!

Just finished chapter 1 and I'm so excited for when chapter 2 comes out! The artwork is beautiful, really capturing that warm, comfy autumn atmosphere. I love that there are so many opportunities to make conversation choices. The characters so far have been fun to meet and interact with, I'm really looking forward to learning more about them (and about the player character!).
Also is the Rosemary doll in the basement just an innocent doll or is she part of the cursed object collection? If cursed, is the curse that the doll makes all your days feel like sunshine and rainbows?this is such a lovely work of art. Props on the writing and character and environment design. I really dig the style. Can't wait to see more!

I need more! The story is so compelling and the art is of course gorgeous <3 I played on Android and the game worked perfectly. I would say maybe the text felt a tiny bit hard to read (I don't know if it's the color or the size, not a huge problem and I often struggle with reading text on the phone anyway)
Thank you so much i'm so glad you enjoyed it! We will test out trying some slightly darker colours for the text i know folk have issues when the text colour it too bright!
Just played the demo and it's utterly gorgeous- I'm on a PC, but the graphics are so good and the music is such a vibe that I don't even mind the awkward ratio (: I'm going to be ecstatic when this comes for iPhone, when it does I will absolutely purchase!

Hiii I'm curious is the mc gonna be customizable aside from name and pronouns? (Although I'm probably gonna be playing either way with how pretty the style and chaaracters are hehehe :3)
We arn't putting in a customisable MC cause you don't really see them seeing how the game is sort of from the players POV. But you can absoloutly come up with your own ideas of what the character looks like or if it is just you!
